Car Warranty Insurance

We at Stig Motors specialise in carrying out repairs under warranty. A warranty is a type of insurance policy that covers the cost of repairs and maintenance work on a car or van.

Vehicle warranty policies are the most common and are specifically designed to pay for any necessary repair work on the vehicle they cover.

However, a warranty doesn't usually extend to cover accidental damage or work required as a result of an accident. This would usually be covered by a fully comprehensive car insurance policy instead.

If you are ever unlucky to breakdown, then get your car towed to us. With many warranty companies your warranty only activates when you car breaks down. But be sure to check your policy. To name a few of the companies we regularly carry out work under warranty are: The AA, Warranty Direct, Warranty Wise and many more high street companies.

Once you bring your vehicle to us, we will then get one of our technicians to check the fault on your car. He will carry out a physical/visual check and also use a vehicle diagnostic machine to see what faults, if any are registered in your ECU.

Once we know the fault and what may have caused it, we will then write a summary which we will then explain to the company you have warranty with. At this point we would need your policy number and your personal details. You will then be contacted by your warranty company who will confirm if the work is covered by the warranty. If it is, they will also contact us and give us the go ahead to carry out the necessary repairs to your vehicle.

This will be paid by the warranty company and you in most cases will have to pay the excess. The amount you will have to pay is usually a small amount and you would have been informed about this when you purchased the warranty.

Important: Most warranties become void if you do not regularly service the vehicles at their scheduled intervals.
